SO I’ve recently been connecting with manga artist (mangka) that arent from Japan but would also (just like meh) would love to be published in Shonen Jump and yes you can enter there contests if you arent of Japanese decent so ya just saying it happens ;D! Im not uneducated in comic bok industry IN FACT ive actually quite into it, as my father owns and runs his own comice colouring business and he colours for names like Marvel, Dark Horse, DC comics, etc! You name a comic hes probably coloured it, no joke hes been around with comics since Adam and Eve. WHICH id like to point out helps me greatly with advice and what the diffferences are between countries and how the comic industry works there. At one point i had lost all hope of becoming a Manga Artist because i told myself, im not good enough, im not Japanese D:, and the odds are againast me, then he told me “Its not race, age, gender, its! all! SKILL! TALENT! What you put into your work WILL show your dreams are only worth what you have made them to be!” Then he went on to tell me to get off my lazy ass and get moving because Japan wasnt waiting around for me! So as i am very passionate and hot headed with motivation i said “HELL YA!” and got back to work! The point of this journal is to say that FIRST i actually will be uploading SOME of my manga, i say some because i have pieces that are either half finished or almost ready to upload just havent had time to finish them, Im in a graphic design program at Red River College in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada and each year 500 people apply only 50 are chosen, so i got in o.o! that makes me feel better about my skill i guess lmfao! and SECOND! Id like to point out that i meet to many artists that give up on there dreams and are worried about the money, well ill tell you something, artists will always be broke… unless ur seriously famous haha even then artists are always looking for ways to make money because art is a hard industry period! but most do it because of passion for art! So dont give up yet! ;D im putting everything on the line to get to my dream, why cant you give your dream another shot? Just food for thought!
